Micah had another visit to the dermatologist at Emory. His arms and legs are doing so well (is this where they got the term 'swell' like as in "Gee, that's a swell idea"), but his face, fingers and scalp are still itchy and infected. I am so pleased by the effort these doctors (yes, plural because he now has
two doctors working on him) are put into figuring out reasons behind the infections and possibly the eczema. Micah isn't so thrilled because it means skin and blood samples. A squirmy two year old remembers the lady with the tourniquet band, needle and vials and wants nothing to do with her, the band, needle, vials or being held down by Mommy with promises of candy and cool band-aids. He's had blood drawn done before and it was awful. However once she got the blood flowing, Micah actually sat still and watched the vials fill up, mesmerised by it, just to prove my idea that boys like blood and guts. He even thanked the pathologist and was rewarded with four Diego stickers, which he shared with our relief babysitter Ms. Letita and Raelin. For the most part Ms. Phylis stayed with Gabe and Caleb, treating them to fast food, which we don't have any more because of Micah's food allergies and she even took them shopping at Dollar General.
The best part of the visit for Micah was riding in Grampy's car and for Mommy it was dressing Micah in real clothing again. He did have on tights, just so he can't pull down regular socks and scratch up his legs- I think we surprised the nurse when he had to undress and she saw a boy wearing white cable knit tights and glove socks.
