Cory had a friend at work give us tickets to the Braves, the seat were eight rows back from the first base and home team dug out. Micah was supposed to come with us and sit quietly like a wonderful two year old, but in the end we decided that an 8 pm game and his current allergy flare up just might make for a not so wonderful time.
The boys brought their ball caps, gloves and complete lack of knowledge of the game. My camera died after the first shot but I am sure you all would have loved to see the pictures of Caleb eating, poking the man in front of him with the giant foam finger, trying to order from the beer man, watching the moths fly overhead, looking at everything but the field right in front of us, and eating some more. He completely loved the vendors yelling out advertisements for food and drinks and with every "Get your....!" he thought of just how tasty and refreshing it would be. We usually ban allergy laden foods, but without Micah we indulged the boys (okay, me too!) to hot dogs, peanuts and nachos. Caleb was, again, thrilled with eating peanuts and drinking Coke- I think one time he stopped to yell out 'Go hitter' even though the guy up to bat was for the other team. Gabe enjoyed the game too since he had plenty of dad time and could finally sit in the stadium seat without it collapsing back. Cory sat next to the elegant young lady that shouted all her affections and dislike for the players- Caleb jumped off Cory's lap the first time she yelled.
We left in the 7th inning, Braves up 2-1, since we had to get Micah from Aunt Megs and it was late already. Our radio usually only hears the likes of Barney and country music but we all thought it would be fun to listen to the rest of the game on the drive home. Now I know why we aren't big sports fans right now, you can't concentrate on a game with kids around. Eventually we made it home and passed out since we typically go to sleep early. Cory called us the next day to say that the Braves lost the game 8-2, so looks like we missed all the fun and the chance for the boys to pick up some choice words from the girl sitting next to Cory .
