Patches The Pirate

Micah's patch testing is off to a great start. He sat patiently while they applied the 71 patches of allergens and was happy to see Dr. Lawley. She wasn't to sure if they would be able to fit that many patches but they had plenty of room since he's been growing so much. All that bologna must be kicking in. Each patch looks like a watercolor palette and holds an allergen that will stay on his skin for 48 hours to determine if something is irritating his skin. This would add Contact Dermatitis to his list of types of eczema and hopefully will fill in more blanks as to why he's not healing all the way. The patches went on without a hitch and we headed to Panera to get yummy sandwiches for the adults and chips for Micah. With the pjs and patches, he is now officially a pirate too. Although Aunt Kelly pointed out that the skull and cross bones could actually mean that Micah is toxic, which would make more sense. Tomorrow is day 2 to Emory to get the patches off and then Friday(his 4th birthday!) for a follow up to check for more irritation and then sometime next week another visit for the results.
