Camp fire

On Saturday night, we decided to treat the boys to dinner and dessert at our little fire pit. We invited my sister Kelly over to celebrate a quilt that she finished, it has been a long and complicated project so it was worth celebrating. We planned on a little swim first, but it rained and the boys found it fun to just play in the rain instead (which explains Micah in swim trunks and cowboy boots, well, that really isn't an explanation but it is Micah that I am talking about). The highlight for the kids was roasting marshmallows. Micah would put the stick in the fire, roast, take a bite, then stick it back in. The last bite was either really toasty or would plop into the fire because it was so gooey. Caleb just sat there and giggled over trying get the stick to reach his mouth, and Gabe worked on getting the perfect roasted marshmallow. He caught a few on fire, under cooked some but prevailed and ate some of the best looking marshmallows.
I really enjoyed the part where everyone cooked for themselves and I also didn't have any dishes to clean.
